Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing customers within an assigned territory
Generate and manage sales leads through business directories, trade shows, industry advertising, and online resources
Travel throughout assigned territory to call on prospective and existing customers in person, on the sales floor, or by phone
Present and demonstrate products using samples and catalogs, emphasizing product features and benefits
Prepare quotes, approve credit terms, and generate sales contracts
Provide organized follow-up on quotes, orders, and customer inquiries
Estimate delivery timelines based on production and delivery schedules
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and expenses
Collaborate with inside sales teams to ensure customer accounts and product information remain up to date
Track inventory levels and coordinate customer training as needed
Enter and maintain customer and sales data within company systems
Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to orders, deliveries, or service issues
Attend trade shows and participate in industry events and associations
Maintain current knowledge of products, materials, and industry trends
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university OR one to two years of related sales experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and technical information
Strong math skills, including pricing, discounts, commissions, and basic blueprint interpretation
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and customer database systems
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to travel within an assigned territory and attend occasional evening or weekend events
