Job Purpose:
The Visitor Experience Associate is a part-time position that serves as the welcoming face of the Museum to the public. The VE Associate fulfills an array of functions such as checking in visitors, crowd and queue management, membership sales, administrative support, and providing visitors information on exhibitions and programs. This position reports to the Senior Visitor Experience Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the public by welcoming museum visitors and directing them to exhibition spaces, public programs, or to ongoing tours, with an engaging, approachable demeanor.

Hosting a space, being prepared to answer questions regarding museum programs or collections.

Working alongside Security to enforce museum visitor policies and keep the Collection safe.

Collect attendance information on general admissions, group tours, public programs, and recording via Altru, the museum's admission and data management software.

Promoting and being familiar with Museum membership benefits and opportunities; handling associated admission and membership sales, done via cash, check, or credit.

Answering phone and email inquiries regarding museum programs and events.

Keeping up to date on museum programs, admission policies, and the upcoming museum event schedule.

Other duties as assigned, such as supporting Development, LCE, and Membership events, as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Excellent verbal communication skills, good judgement, and strong customer service skills. Associates often must coordinate with their fellow associates and think on their feet, so good teamwork is necessary.

Altru software experience is preferred but training is provided.

Experience working in a retail environment or guest management is a plus.

Cash handling abilities are required.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, potentially outdoors.

Candidates must be available during the weekends and Friday evenings.

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to move about inside and outside the office; to frequently communicate with managers and employees, ability to access and operate computer and other office equipment; and ability to lift, move or carry up to twenty pounds

Location Requirements:
At the time of employment, employees are expected to be located within reasonable commuting distance of the museum. Commuting Distance means they are located in South Florida, and able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
