DB-TC Elementary Title I Teacher
Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Area Schools is seeking a highly skilled, data-driven, positive and compassionate Title I Teacher to join our elementary team September 2026. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator with a proven record bringing forth growth in Reading and Math achievement through targeted, evidence-based interventions.
The Title I teacher’s primary mission is to accelerate student learning and close achievement gaps in Reading and Math. This teacher will serve as a specialized instructional leader who will utilize assessment data to identify at-risk students, design and deliver high-impact tiered interventions (MTSS), and provide oversight and guidance to paraprofessional staff. The ultimate goal is for every student to reach grade-level proficiency and develop a strong foundation for academic success.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Professional Teaching Certificate with an Elementary endorsement.
- Significant experience delivering instruction in Reading and Math at the elementary level.
- Expert-level ability to administer, interpret, and communicate data from benchmark assessments.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and oversee the daily instructional tasks of paraprofessionals to ensure intervention fidelity.
- Deep knowledge of the Science of Reading and evidence-based Math Recovery strategies.
- Commitment to employing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBiS/SEB) to ensure a positive culture and successful behavior management.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to ensure compliance with Michigan Title I regulations and documentation requirements for federal programs.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze school-wide benchmark data to identify students eligible for Title I.
- Monitor student progress frequently in order to adjust instruction as needed.
- Design and implement small-group and individual Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions in Reading and Math that target specific skill deficits.
- Utilize research-based programs and strategies to engage diverse learners.
- Develop daily intervention schedules and lesson plans for Title I paraprofessionals.
- Conduct regular check-ins/coaching with paraprofessionals to ensure instructional quality and consistency.
- Partner with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core classroom instruction.
- Report regularly to administration and parents regarding student growth, scores, and achievement milestones.
- Maintain meticulous records of student attendance and progress to satisfy Title I audit and compliance standards.
- Foster a growth mindset in students, helping them take pride in their progress as their scores and abilities improve.
Additional Information:
- Dollar Bay-Tamarack City uses Renaissance Star and Acadience benchmark assessments in ELA and Math.
- K-2 teachers are committed to continuing the use of ECRI (Enhanced Core Reading Instruction) at the early elementary level.
