The teacher applying to this position MUST:
1) Be a loving, nurturing, eco-conscious, and experienced preschool teacher
2) Have worked with pre-schoolers (mixed aged classrooms preferably)
3) Have excellent grammar in English (bilingual English/Spanish is a must)
4) Have a AA in ECE or 24 Units in ECE
5) Be able to create a child-centered learning environment using creative & hands-on methods of instruction
6) Be CPR certified (preferred)

Description:
The Teacher in our high-quality program plays an important role in upholding the practices of Green Beginning Community Preschool (GBCP) by providing a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children and families. The candidate oversees the classroom operations and works in collaboration with the classroom team and families to meet educational and program goals. The Teacher must be a critical thinker, reflective, communicative, professional, and committed to implementing Green Beginning's educational approach and non-judgmental philosophy. The teacher will teach in English in the morning program and Spanish in the afternoons.
Requirements:
- AA or Bachelor’s Degree in ECE; or
- Bachelor’s Degree in another discipline and 12 ECE units; or
- 3-5 years in a teaching position experience with demonstrated capacity to meet above responsibilities and duties
- Experience working with pre-schoolers, mixed aged environment is a plus
- Meet the requirements of the California Department of Social Services
- Demonstrates professionalism in attire, attitude, punctuality, and attendance
- Ability to utilize technology to make learning visible (photos, video, audio; formatting documentation, etc.)
- Fluency in Spanish language (written and orally)
