Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ dental and medical history to determine appropriate endodontic treatment plans.
- Perform root canal therapies, including retreatments, apicoectomies, and other advanced endodontic procedures with precision and aseptic technique.
- Utilize dental imaging technology and anatomy knowledge to accurately diagnose dental issues and develop effective treatment strategies.
- Collaborate closely with general dentists and specialists such as prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatrics to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain detailed medical records, dental diagnosis documentation, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare standards.
- Educate patients on their dental health, treatment options, post-procedure care, and preventive practices to promote long-term oral health.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment for patients and staff.
Skills
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for documentation and treatment planning.
- Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and healthcare diagnosis processes.
- Skilled in performing dental extractions, oral surgery, dental implants, and other related procedures within the scope of endodontics.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures.
- Strong client communication skills to explain treatments clearly and build trust with diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques for accurate diagnosis of complex cases.
- Ability to follow infection control standards rigorously while maintaining high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
