Interventionist - Middle and High School Math & ELA - 2026-2027
Job Summary
The Math and ELA Interventionist provides targeted, data-driven instruction to students in grades 7–12 who are performing below grade level. This role focuses on diagnosing learning gaps, delivering Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 interventions, and monitoring progress to accelerate academic growth. The interventionist collaborates closely with teachers and administrators to align support with Alabama Course of Study Standards and MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) frameworks.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Certification: Valid Alabama Educator License in Secondary Mathematics, English Language Arts, Collaborative Special Education preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience.
Skills
Knowledge: Deep understanding of the MTSS process, data-driven instruction, and remedial reading/math methodologies.
Communication: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with other teachers, administrators, and parents.
Data Fluency: Must demonstrate the ability to analyze data, identify areas of need, and develop and implement targeted strategies to improve student outcomes.
Reports To : Principal(s)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Data Diagnostics: Analyze state assessments (e.g., ACAP, PreACT), screening data, and progress monitoring tools to identify specific student deficits.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Nine (9) months unless otherwise determined by the board. Salary and work year to be established by the board.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel and as directed by the Alabama State Department of Education personnel evaluation requirements.
