As a Welder, you’ll set up and adjust machines to keep production running smoothly and ensure high-quality results. You’ll check product quality, record data, and fix issues when needed, including making small equipment adjustments or hand-welding parts. The job also involves safely using tools like cranes, forklifts, and grinders to support the production process.
Welder Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and adjust machines and equipment to ensure production of high-quality products.
- Perform all required quality tests, certifications, and production checks as directed by Quality Assurance or supervisory personnel.
- Conduct ongoing visual inspections of products, accurately record production data, report and document scrap, and carry out rework or other assigned tasks as needed.
- Make routine equipment adjustments to maintain process efficiency and ensure welding meets company standards.
- Manually repair or hand-weld products that fall below standard due to tolerance variations during robotic operations.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, handheld grinders, and other departmental equipment.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Prior welding experience or schooling required. Prior certification preferred but not required.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to successfully pass the AWS Certification Test in accordance with the Company Welding Policy.
- Proficient in operating overhead cranes, forklifts, handheld grinders, and other departmental equipment.
- Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and routing sheets.
- Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and other devices.
- Competent in performing Statistical Process Control (SPC) procedures and tests, with the ability to interpret results and make necessary process adjustments.
- Ability to effectively navigate and utilize Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
- MIG welding experience preferred.
