Responsibilities
Assist welders with setting up welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION> welding processes. Prepare materials by measuring with calipers and micrometers, cutting with plasma cutters or press brake machines, and organizing sheet metal or ductwork components. Support fabrication activities by handling hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment to assemble parts according to schematics and blueprints. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, inspecting tools and machinery, and participating in safety meetings. Assist with pipe threading, mechanical assembly, and soldering tasks as directed by supervisors. Help load, unload, and move materials using forklifts or other lifting equipment while following proper rigging procedures. Support the team in reading schematics and blueprints to ensure precise fabrication and assembly of metal structures.
Qualifications
Previous construction site experience or hands-on work in manufacturing environments is preferred. Basic knowledge of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, and <LOCATION> welding is highly desirable. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, calipers, micrometers, and basic math skills is essential for accurate measurements and assembly. Experience operating hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, forklifts, and machining equipment is a plus. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes like pipe threading, ductwork installation, or assembly enhances your suitability for this role. Strong commitment to safety practices on construction sites or manufacturing floors. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while working efficiently in a team environment.

Pay: $22.84 - $27.51 per hour
