Job Overview

Duties
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, ensuring timely communication with healthcare teams.
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking, ensuring dietary restrictions and preferences are respected.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper use for patient safety during transfers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment by performing regular cleaning and sanitation tasks.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and facility policies.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages independence and dignity.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer’s disease, or dementia is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts effectively.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing signs of distress or health deterioration.
- Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA regulations, and documentation standards in healthcare settings.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and residents’ families.
