ABOUT EMBER SHOALS
Ember Shoals Resort sits on the banks of the White River in Cotter, Arkansas, one of the premier trout fishing destinations in North America. We’re a new riverfront property offering RV sites and cabins, designed for guests who want something more than a place to sleep, they want an experience. We’re opening summer 2026, and we’re building a team that takes as much pride in this place as we do.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Property Manager / General Manager who can run the day-to-day operations of a full-service resort property with the energy and ownership mindset of someone who genuinely loves this kind of work. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll be the face of Ember Shoals to our guests, the backbone of our operations, and the person our team and ownership can count on to get things done right.
If you love the White River, love meeting people from all over the country, and know what great hospitality looks and feels like, this might be the best job you’ve ever had.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Oversee all daily resort operations including check-in/check-out, site and cabin readiness, housekeeping coordination, and guest communications
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guests — welcoming arrivals, resolving issues quickly, and creating the kind of experience that earns five-star reviews and repeat visits
- Manage and support a small on-site team, including bookkeeper, front office team, housekeeping and maintenance staff, setting the tone for a positive, guest-first culture
- Coordinate with our retail fishing gear supplier, local fishing guide partners, and other on-site vendors to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Monitor reservations and site availability using our property management system (ResNexus); flag booking trends or issues to ownership
- Conduct or oversee property inspections to ensure all sites, cabins, and common areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Handle vendor relationships, supply ordering, and light administrative duties
- Communicate proactively and clearly with ownership on operations, staffing, guest feedback, and property conditions
- Annual budgeting and planning
- Event Planning, Preparation and Follow-up
- Represent Ember Shoals with professionalism and warmth — at the front desk, on the property, and in the community
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The must-haves:
- Genuine love of hospitality and working with guests. This is not a back-office role.
- Experience in resort, campground, hotel, or property management (2+ years preferred)
- Familiarity with the White River and/or trout fishing — you don’t have to be a guide, but you should be able to talk the talk with anglers from across the country
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
- Clear, direct communicator with guests, staff, and ownership
- High personal integrity and a self-starter mindset; you don’t wait to be told what needs to be done
- Comfort with basic technology — property management software, email, and reservations platforms
Nice to have (not required):
- Experience with ResNexus or similar campground/hospitality PMS platforms
- Background in outdoor hospitality, glamping, or RV resort operations
- Local knowledge of the Cotter / Mountain Home area and the surrounding region
- Experience managing a small team
COMPENSATION & DETAILS
- Salary, Bonus & Profit-Sharing Possibilities
- Full-time, on-site position. Wednesday-Sunday work schedule. Presence on property is essential, especially during peak season
- Anticipated start: August 2026 in alignment with resort opening
- Opportunity to grow with the property as we expand
