Achilles Foot and Ankle Center offers the latest advances in foot and ankle care.
This is a hands on position and requires active care of patients during the clinic hours. We are searching for a hard working, dedicated, team player to join our team.
We do provide 2 weeks of paid training to all new employees. Rest assured, you do not need experience with podiatry. We are looking for a motivated learner who is willing to be a team player.
SUMMARY OF POSITION :
To ensure that all duties assigned are done in a timely manner and to participate in patient care within all aspects of a Medical Office, as well as within the confines of the scope of practice relevant to a Licensed Practical Nurse. To maintain the medical records at a level that exceeds licensing standards and provides for strict patient confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Includes, but may not be limited to the following:
- Demonstrate awareness of patients’ concerns and a willingness to address them.
- Observe pertinent changes in symptoms of patients’ condition and take appropriate action; report to physician.
- Document all nursing interventions in patient record.
- Scans all pertinent documents pertaining to patient in the patient record.
- Assist physician as needed.
- Apply durable medical equipment to patient (Boots, Braces, Diabetic Shoes)
- Remove and apply wound care products under the direction of the provider
- Assist with exam room turnover.
- Initiate communication to the Practice Manager immediately in areas that require feedback, follow-up, or need to be addressed.
- Demonstrate tact and understanding in dealings with patients, team members, members of other disciplines and the public.
- Check phone messages on a regular basis and return all phone calls by the day’s end.
- Complete all required electronic paperwork at the time of service.

- Office skills obtained through applicable job experience and/or appropriate education
- Strong sense of professionalism
- Ability to organize work according to priorities
- Ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner while working against specific deadlines
- Ability to carry out special assignments with minimal supervision
- Maturity and tact in dealing with patients, clients and co-workers
- Effective communication with patients, referring physician offices, and co-workers
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current State of Virginia license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Computer Skills
- iPad Usage
- Electronic Medical Records experience preferred. (We utilize eClinical Works)
