Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient preparation to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, portioning, and waste management
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of dishes efficiently and accurately
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or culinary environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Fine dining experience or experience working in upscale establishments highly desirable
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work efficiently under pressure
