Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Toddler Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will lead classroom activities, develop engaging curriculum tailored to toddlers’ developmental needs, and foster a nurturing environment that encourages exploration and growth. Your leadership will ensure that each child's unique abilities are supported through thoughtful instruction, positive behavior management, and effective communication with families. Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans focused on toddler care, literacy education, math, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote curiosity, independence, and social skills among toddlers.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with team members to create a cohesive curriculum that aligns with early childhood education standards and individualized child development plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or development.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child observations and incident reports.
- Supervise assistant teachers and support staff to maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or toddler classrooms.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, early intervention strategies, and childhood education best practices.
- Proven ability to develop curriculum that incorporates literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
- Excellent classroom management skills combined with effective behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, child welfare policies, and health & safety standards such as first aid and CPR certification.
- Exceptional communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Experience working with children who have special needs or require individualized support plans.
- Ability to plan lessons that meet educational standards while fostering creativity and curiosity in young learners.
