We are looking to hire an Dental Hygienist with Pediatric experience to join our amazing dental team. We have 2 locations, 1 in Damascus, MD and other in Frederick, MD. Looking to hire for Thursday 8-5pm (summer 7-3pm) shift in Frederick, MD. Additional shifts may become available as practice grows. Assistants available for help, great team of professionals, fantastic patient base. We are not a corporate. Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Sterilize dental instruments properly
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
- Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
- Educate patients on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
- Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
- Take X-rays or dental impressions
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases
- Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
- Monitor supplies
- Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Qualifications and Skills required
- Proven experience as Dental Hygienist
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA, OSHA)
- Current CPR certification
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- Experience with Open Dental and iDentalsoft would be useful
- Outstanding communication skills
- A patient and friendly personality
- Attention to detail
- Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
- Valid RDH license to practice in Maryland is a must
- Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, dental codes, equipment, and practice
