American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at an acute care hospital in Windber, PA, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a PA or compact RN license.

33-bed Medical-Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting

Patient population includes orthopedic (total knee and total hip), bariatric (gastric sleeve and gastrectomy), CHF, COPD, TIA, and cardiac cath patients requiring intervention

Unit is equipped with 16 telemetry monitors; a CCU nurse and supervisor on each shift are available to read monitor strips
-
Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1

Night shift, with a mix of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts available; block scheduling is offered to travel nurses

Weekend requirement is flexible — every other weekend or a schedule that works for the traveler

EMR: MEDITECH

Active PA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred but not required

Provide nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population including post-surgical, cardiac, and pulmonary patients
