Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metal and plastic parts.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations .
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to complete the job.
- Load raw materials into the machine and monitor the machining process.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure proper dimensions of finished products.
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes
- Operate various modern machines on the shop floor.
- Mills include HAAS VF7 4 Axis, DMU 5 Axis, and DMG Mori.
- Operate, monitor, and complete production jobs on CNC Mills, or other machines checking parts to print, making offset changes, and producing quality parts.
- May be doing multiple set ups per day or might be running more production parts on off shifts.
- Read drawings and make offset changes independently
Requirements/Skills:
- 2-5+ years of CNC Mill or lathe machining experience.
- Looking for 3/4/&5 axis experience.
- Understanding and exposure to working with GD&T prints and designs.
- Strong Operator/Set up machinist okay too, though the current need will be doing more production-based work and less set ups and tear downs.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Proficient in operating milling machines and other CNC equipment.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls and programming.
- Ability to fabricate parts using various materials.
- Experience operating a forklift for material handling purposes.
- Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations and measurements.
- Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques is a plus
- Proficiency in CAD software for reading and modifying blueprints.
