Occupational Therapist
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assesses the motor, visual-motor and sensory-motor functioning of students
referred for a special education evaluation. Helps determine the need for
occupational therapy services, including but not limited to fine/gross motor
development, self-care, and activities of daily living.
2. Writes assessment reports identifying the student’s needs and proposed
treatment strategies.
3. Participates in case conferences by sharing initial assessment results,
progress on goals, and proposing new or modified goals.
4. Writes goals and provisions into each student’s Individual Education Plan
receiving occupational therapy services.
5. Provides services to students as written in his/her IEP.
6. Reports progress monitoring to guardians twice per year at the semester.
7. Adapts and modifies the educational environment including assistive
technology to meet the individual needs of each student.
8. Provides training to all staff who work with students receiving occupational
therapy services.
9. Records all services provided to students and submits Medicaid billing
forms in a timely manner.
