The J Bar Restaurant in Davenport, IA is currently seeking an experienced Bar/Restaurant Manager. The ideal Bar/Restaurant Manager will possess a high level of energy with confidence and edge. This person will be a well-maintained, active, individual with the physical ability to handle a busy work environment on a continual basis. The successful candidate will have similar industry experience in high volume, full service, quality oriented restaurants and still have something to prove in his/her career. Prior work experience in an entrepreneurial environment with direct managerial responsibility in a restaurant producing gross sales in excess of $2 million is essential.
This person will have held various positions of increasing responsibility and have successfully managed comparable numbers of seats, sales volume and staff. This individual will have the ability to increase sales through internal marketing strategies as well as pursue community involvement strategies. A keen understanding of the local marketplace and the competitors within is essential along with a willingness to focus on the details of executing previously successful or newly created marketing campaigns.
This Bar/Restaurant Manager will be thoughtful in his/her use of the brand and market the restaurant in a way that is consistent with the brand. Fiscal responsibility with the understanding and ability to affect cost controls is important.This individual will have hands-on experience in this area and will have specific examples of how he/she improved a previous situation. The ability to identify trends and forecast business is essential.
A successful Restaurant Manager will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with multiple layers of people between staff, management, support center, guests and the community at large.This person will also communicate the vision for the future on a regular basis.Lastly, the ideal candidate for this position will be well versed in the operation with the ability to look at the restaurant through a microscopic lens while managing global progress.
