Position Summary
One of our clients is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk for a temporary assignment to assist with bringing our accounting records up to date. The primary focus of this role will be entering historical financial data into QuickBooks, reconciling records, and supporting the Accounting Department with various bookkeeping and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, experience with QuickBooks, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Enter historical financial transactions into QuickBooks accurately and efficiently.
- Review and organize accounting records, invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile entered transactions against bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable data entry.
- Verify data accuracy and identify discrepancies or missing information.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting files.
- Generate reports and assist with data validation and cleanup efforts.
- Perform general administrative and accounting duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or data entry experience.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks required.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to organize large volumes of financial information and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with historical data conversion or accounting record cleanup projects.
- Familiarity with bank reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
- Bookkeeping experience in a small to mid-sized business environment.
Schedule & Duration
- Temporary assignment.
- Full-time preferred; flexible schedule may be considered.
- Expected duration based on project completion and business needs.
Objective: The successful candidate will help ensure all historical accounting data is accurately entered into QuickBooks and that financial records are current, organized, and ready for ongoing accounting operations.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
