Travel Surgical Technologist

Job Details

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a hospital surgery unit position.

Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience required
Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion of a Surgical Technology program required
CST certification through NBSTSA or TS-C certification through NCCT required
BLS certification required
License required if applicable
Epic charting experience required
Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures
Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology
Applied knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers as used in surgical procedures
Demonstrated understanding of sterile technique and perioperative teamwork

Function as first, second, or assisting Surgical Technologist under RN supervision during the intraoperative period
Maintain a sterile environment by applying principles of asepsis
Provide age-specific care to obstetrical patients per department policy
Assist in organizing and coordinating supplies and equipment for departmental efficiency
Maintain a safe environment for patients, co-workers, and self in adherence to safety and legal requirements
Participate in room turnover and setup between procedures
Maintain and clean equipment, identifying items needing repair per policy
Perform sterilization, disinfection, and load documentation per policy
RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
