We are ideally looking for someone on second shift. It could be from 3:15PM-1:45AM or 12:00PM – 10:30PM 4 days p/week. Working in our tool room using various machines to help produce low volume specialty parts. Candidate would eventually be trained on multiple machines and rotate as needed. Ideally seeking someone with CNC experience on a Milling machine. Must be able to read blueprints, tolerances, and precision measuring tools digital and analog.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be able to set up and operate various manually controlled machines. Possible machines include a lathes, mills, surface grinders, polishing spinners, and ID/OD grinders.
- Independently plan a machining operation by studying a job traveler and blueprint, or from verbal direction.
- Set-up and operate machines to finish parts to precise tolerances and finish requirements.
- The ability to measure, inspect, and make adjustments while the parts while being worked on.
- Setup and calibrate all necessary measuring equipment which includes O.D. micrometers, bore gages, depth micrometers, hole micrometers, dial calipers, surface gages, and gage blocks.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to sit, lift, reach, bend, or stand for entire shift.
- Good hand to eye coordination.
- Basic math skills with decimals and fractions
- Basic understanding of geometry
- Understanding GD&T is a plus
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maneuver heavy objects into a machine by pushing, pulling, lifting, and placing heavy fixtures at heights between the hips and shoulders.
