Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Finance to lead our financial operations and drive fiscal excellence across the organization. This pivotal role requires a proactive leader with a comprehensive understanding of financial management, accounting standards, and industry regulations. Duties
- Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting functions including corporate accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and technical accounting standards such as IAS (International Accounting Standards) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Manage financial reporting processes by preparing accurate financial statements, interpreting complex financial data, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Direct treasury management activities including cash flow analysis, investment management, risk analysis, and cost control initiatives to optimize liquidity and fiscal stability.
- Supervise budgeting processes, financial projection model development, forecasting activities, and cost management strategies to support strategic planning efforts.
- Oversee internal controls related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Lead risk management initiatives by analyzing industry-specific financial regulations, assessing potential risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational assets.
- Foster leadership within the finance team through coaching on technical proficiency in financial software systems, Excel data analysis, ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, and compliance management practices.
Skills
- Extensive experience in finance directorship roles with proven leadership in managing large finance teams.
- Deep understanding of IAS, IFRS, GAAP, industry-specific financial regulations, and public accounting standards.
- Strong expertise in corporate finance including investment management, profit & loss analysis, cost control, and fiscal management.
- Proficiency in financial software systems combined with advanced Excel data analysis skills for developing complex financial models.
- Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, business development experience, risk analysis, and industry knowledge of financial markets.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing and interpretation to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Well-versed in regulatory reporting requirements for governmental agencies as well as non-profit organizations’ accounting standards.
- Ability to develop comprehensive financial projection models that support long-term organizational growth initiatives.
