Rev Limit Auto Center is looking for an experienced Lead Mechanic / Shop Foreman to take ownership of our mechanical department.
We are a veteran-owned, full-service automotive facility serving West O‘ahu. Our operation includes automotive repair, advanced diagnostics, fleet service, collision repair, custom work, and towing and recovery. We have built our reputation on honest answers, quality workmanship, fair pricing, and dependable service.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can diagnose and repair vehicles while also managing technicians, workflow, production, quality, and accountability. We need a leader who can keep the shop moving, remove bottlenecks, develop technicians, and consistently deliver high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the mechanical department
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems
- Assign and prioritize work based on technician skill, vehicle status, and promised completion time
- Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, and billed-hour production
- Keep vehicles moving efficiently through the shop
- Identify and resolve workflow and parts-related bottlenecks
- Inspect completed work and maintain strong quality-control standards
- Reduce comebacks and ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time
- Coach, train, and hold technicians accountable
- Communicate clearly with service advisors, management, technicians, and other departments
- Help create an organized, professional, and productive work environment
- Lead by example with integrity, urgency, and a strong work ethic
Performance Expectations
- Build the department toward 280–360+ produced hours per week
- Maintain approximately 105%–120% technician efficiency
- Maintain a comeback rate below 3%, with a goal of less than 2%
- Improve technician performance, shop capacity, and turnaround time
- Protect quality and customer trust while increasing production
What We’re Looking For
- Proven automotive diagnostic and repair experience
- Previous experience leading technicians or managing shop production
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems
- Ability to organize several active repair orders and technicians
- Strong quality-control and problem-solving skills
- Clear and professional communication
- A leadership style based on accountability, consistency, and teamwork
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven shop
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
Compensation
- $85,000 annual base salary, paid biweekly
- Total earning potential of approximately $120,000–$165,000+
- Weekly production bonuses:
- 240 produced hours: $500
- 280 produced hours: $1,000
- 320 produced hours: $1,600
- 360+ produced hours: $2,400
- 3% of qualifying monthly labor revenue above the established $140,000 baseline
- Additional efficiency and low-comeback incentives
- $10,000–$20,000 potential annual performance bonus
- Possible 3%–5% labor-profit participation following a successful six-month performance review
