Overview
Join our team as a Program Coordinator at the National Literacy Institute (NLI), where your background in education and passion for literacy will directly shape how we serve schools and districts nationwide. In this role, you'll lead the coordination of our professional development programs — including virtual training sessions, our Train the Trainer program, and our annual Literacy Lit Education Explosion Conference — while supporting the growth of our new Center for Dyslexia & Literacy. Your energy and organization will keep our programs running smoothly, our district partners well-supported, and our team moving toward NLI's mission of transforming literacy instruction. This is a great opportunity for an education professional ready to shift from the classroom into program leadership and make an impact at a larger scale.

- Support planning and execution of the annual Literacy Lit Education Explosion Conference, including vendor coordination and event logistics
- Serve as a point of contact for school districts and partners, maintaining strong working relationships
- Maintain accurate program records, reports, and tracking using standard office/administrative software
- Assist with training materials and communication that reflect NLI's literacy/dyslexia instructional standards
- Monitor program feedback and outcomes to help continuously improve session quality and structure
- Support administrative tasks related to vendor packets, bid submissions, and program expansion efforts as needed
Requirements
- Prior classroom teaching experience required — literacy, reading intervention, or dyslexia/special education background strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of literacy instruction and/or educational program frameworks
- Proven organizational and project coordination skills — able to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines at once
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general administrative/productivity tools
- Excellent written communication skills for reports, training materials, and district-facing correspondence
- Comfortable working with school administrators, teachers, and district stakeholders
- Ability to lead and coordinate effectively in a fast-paced, growing organization
This role is ideal for a former educator ready to step into program leadership — bringing classroom credibility and instructional insight to help schools and districts nationwide strengthen literacy outcomes.
