Paddle Lake Swartswood is gearing up for our inaugural 2026 season and we are looking to hire new team members for our kayak rental concession!
Seasonal May 2 – September 29 (Shortened this year from Mid-July to September 29). Pay based on experience $16.50/hour, approx. 12+/week. Weekends and holidays ONLY.
Key Responsibilities: Our staff members at Lake Swartswood work quite independently. The tasks will be pretty consistent day-to-day and will encompass the following:
- Facility Operations: open/close storage garage, set up signage and equipment
- Guest Services: create/edit/cancel reservations on iPad, check-in guests (ensure all forms are signed and time slots are correct), provide a brief safety and rules speech, answer questions, assist guests in/out of kayaks/paddleboards
- Equipment Management: lift/carry kayaks, paddle boards, paddles, and lifejackets from storage garage to the lake and back, drain excess water from and wipe down boats
Qualifications:
- Physical ability for outdoor, hands-on work in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift/carry up to approx 85lbs.
- Excellent communication skills
- A kind, friendly attitude

Generally speaking, Paddle Lake Swartswood team members enjoy being outside and interacting with customers. They are comfortable working alone and lifting adult and tandem kayaks. Paddle Lake Swartswood team members will have a lot of independence, however we do jump in to help on sold out days and will check-in during your shift to ensure all is going smoothly. Reminder, our rental business is only open on weekends and holidays from 11am-4pm.
