Assistant Professor, Academic Success and Bar Preparation Overview:

The Assistant Professor, Program for Academic Success and Bar Preparation will primarily teach academic success and bar preparation related courses and provide intensive academic support to students. This position requires the ability to identify students’ academic strengths and opportunities for improvement and to devise effective instructional approaches and counseling strategies to help students optimize their academic performance and test taking skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Professor, Academic Success and Bar Preparation will:
· Work with doctrinal faculty and staff to develop and optimize students’ academic performance.
· Teach academic success courses and workshops.
· Teach in-school bar preparation related courses and workshops.
· Conduct conferences with students for the purpose of general academic and bar exam counseling.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities May Include:
The Assistant Professor, Academic Success and Bar Preparation may:
· Assist with bar preparation workshops and support graduates during the 10-12 weeks prior to the February and July bar examinations.
· Create academic success and bar preparation materials including essay writing assignments, multiple choice practice questions, and related materials.
Job Qualifications:
Required:
· J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school and strong academic credentials.
· Bar passage on the first attempt, in any jurisdiction, with Florida bar preferred.
· Licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction, and in good standing.
· A strong interest in legal education and dedication to student success.
· Commitment to diversity and supporting a diverse student population.
· The ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team.
· The ability to deal with sensitive situations using discretion.
Desired:
· Proven teaching, interpersonal and counseling skills including class preparation, classroom instruction, and individual student tutoring.
· 1-3 years of post-graduate legal experience.
· Prior law-teaching experience.

Salary: $56,000-$75,000(based on experience, education, and skill set)
