Job Overview:
As a Diesel Mechanic , you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses. Your expertise will ensure that our vehicles are in optimal condition, adhering to safety standards and providing reliable service to our customers. You will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines and related systems. Perform repairs and replacements as needed to restore functionality.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations, to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of the buses.
- Safety Inspections: Perform thorough inspections of buses to ensure they meet safety standards and regulatory requirements. Address any issues identified during inspections.
- Parts and Equipment: Order and replace parts and components using specialized tools and equipment. Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used. Complete service reports and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, technicians, and service managers to ensure efficient workflow and effective communication regarding vehicle status and repair needs.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service to internal and external customers by ensuring that buses are repaired and maintained to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with experience in bus or heavy vehicle maintenance.
- Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE Diesel Mechanic Certification) are preferred. A valid driver's license is required. CDL license preferred.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Knowledge of diesel engine systems and components.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy parts and tools, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., indoor and outdoor settings).
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety standards and procedures.
