About the role
Invincia Technologies is growing, and we’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who thrives on delivering complex projects end‑to‑end while leading stakeholders with clear plans, crisp communication, and measurable outcomes. This is a hands‑on role: you’ll architect, build, and harden infrastructure—then own the project plan, timelines, risks, and communication to get it over the finish line.
What you’ll do
- Lead and deliver projects spanning server upgrades/migrations, Microsoft 365 tenant security hardening, identity modernization, and network/security improvements—owning scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder communications.
- Engineer, implement, and administer Windows Server (AD, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, file/print, roles/features), including upgrades, clustering, and performance tuning.
- Operate at expert level in Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID) with a focus on security & compliance (MFA, Conditional Access, Secure Score, DLP/retention, governance).
- Apply strong cybersecurity practices across endpoints, servers, identities, email, and data: policy design, hardening baselines, incident triage/response coordination, and continuous improvement.
- Own project management mechanics: build plans, RAID logs, status reports, stakeholder readouts, and change control; unblock execution and keep delivery on track.
- Automate and standardize with scripting (PowerShell) and repeatable runbooks; document designs and procedures that others can follow.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate cross‑functionally with service desk, account teams, and leadership to ensure technical excellence and great customer outcomes.
You’ll be successful here if you:
- Bring expert‑level mastery of Windows Server (on‑prem/virtualized) and Microsoft 365/Entra ID.
- Have a strong, demonstrable cybersecurity background (frameworks and controls, threat modeling, endpoint/email security, identity protection, and compliance tooling).
- Are a project athlete who can plan, communicate, and deliver—equally comfortable in a design workshop and on a late‑night cutover.
- Write and read PowerShell confidently; automate configuration, reporting, and migrations.
- Communicate clearly with executives and technicians; translate risk and complexity into actionable plans.
- Thrive in a fast‑moving MSP environment and enjoy context switching while maintaining high standards.
Preferred experience (nice to have)
- Identity & access: Conditional Access, MFA, privileged access/role design, and lifecycle processes.
- Data protection & DR: 3‑2‑1 backup designs, immutable/object storage, RPO/RTO planning, and recovery testing.
- Endpoint management and monitoring using RMM platforms (e.g., NinjaOne) and PSA/project workflows (e.g., HaloPSA).
- Email security and incident workflows with a 24×7 SOC partner; coordinating EDR/AV policies and responses.
- Virtualization (Hyper‑V), file services, DFS/namespace planning, and migrations.
- Network security: firewall policy hygiene, site‑to‑site/user VPN, and segmentation best practices.
Compensation & benefits
- Base salary: $85,000–$105,000 (DOE).
- Competitive benefits; ongoing training and certifications aligned to security and Microsoft cloud.
- A culture that values craftsmanship, transparency, and continuous improvement.
