Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Diesel Mechanic and Farmerstock Yard Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of heavy equipment, farm machinery, and industrial systems. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting diesel engines, heavy equipment, and farm machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety across our operations.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems for a wide range of heavy equipment and farm machinery.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and air brake system checks.
- Fabricate parts and components using welding and hand tools to support equipment repair needs.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for maintenance tasks or movement of materials around the yard.
- Read schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection logs, and repair documentation for all equipment serviced.
- Assist with general yard maintenance duties to keep the facility safe, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive electrical systems, transmissions, hydraulics, and vehicle systems repair.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding; capable of using power tools safely and effectively.
- Experience working with farm machinery such as tractors or other agricultural equipment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics for diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment like excavators or cranes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in maintenance tasks.
