American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring Cath Lab experience and on-call availability for a 13-week contract.

Work in a two-room Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite within a 426-bed short-term acute care hospital that is part of a large academic health system

Adult patient population with diagnoses including Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease

Procedures performed include diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterizations, stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, IVC filters, TEEs, Cardioversions, TAVRs, and MitraClips (in conjunction with the hybrid OR)

Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00–17:30)

On-call required: approximately 6–9 days per month; weekday call runs 5:15 PM–7:00 AM, weekend call is 24 hours per day; the Cath Lab is open 24/7 for cardiac emergencies

Floating to a sister campus may be required as needed

Active RN license (CT state or Compact) currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Minimum Cath Lab experience required; candidates without Cath Lab-specific background will not be considered

Nurses with any prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license are not eligible for this position

Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted

COVID vaccination required (religious or medical exemptions considered)

One professional reference required for consideration

Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and placement

Perform invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures, assist with TAVRs and MitraClips in the hybrid OR, and provide emergency cardiac cath coverage as part of an on-call rotation

The facility is a Level II Trauma Center affiliated with a large academic health system
-
Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being eligible as a traveler
-
Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved by the facility

Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
