Duties
- As a direct care provider for our agency, you must have the knowledge, skills, and ability
- to do the following:
- Knowledge of the characteristics and concepts of populations with Emotional Disorder and related conditions and treatment approaches for residents.
- Knowledge of simple direct care responsibilities, first-aid, behavior management, personal and environmental hygiene.
- Ability to implement and follow the policies and procedures of the department, facility or service entity.
- Ability to engage in the care, and life skills training of clients.
- Ability to teach clients proper eating, bathing, dressing, grooming and otherself- care skills.
- Ability to participate with professional staff in the design and implementationof training and programmatic activities.
- Ability to perform established training, care and programmatic activities.
- Ability to observe the rights and personal dignity of others.
- Ability to observe, record and report clients' behavior, attitude and physicalcondition.
- Ability to perform simple math and communicate effectively, both orally andwritten.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients and otheremployees.
- Provide 24-hour supervision and daily care needs to clients
- Prepare and cook well balanced meals
- Dispense medication to clients and document
- Maintain all log books
- Monthly Fire Drills (day and night-time)
- Practice evacuation procedures
- Complete incident report for all injuries
- Perform Observation Checks when residents are sleeping
- Ensure safety of clients
- Attend and transport clients to appointments and activities
- Assist with coordination of outside services and care for residents
- Other reasonable duties asked
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be EBI trained
- Must be at least 21 years of age and must be able to pass a background check.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training is encouraged
- One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the care, training, habilitation and development of the population we serve.
- Ability to operate a standard passenger car for transportation needs when necessary
- Experience working with individuals with behaviors
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support seniors and individuals with disabilities

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
