Primary Therapist (Substance Use Counselor)
Asheville Recovery Center | Asheville, NC
Full-Time
$53,000-$64,000 annually (based on experience and credentials)
Be the therapist you set out to become.
Helping people recover is serious work. That doesn't mean your workplace has to feel like a hospital or a corporate office.
At Asheville Recovery Center, we've built a team of experienced clinicians who genuinely enjoy working together. We care deeply about our clients, but we also believe work should be enjoyable. You'll find approachable leadership, supportive coworkers, and an environment where people know your name instead of treating you like another employee number.
We keep caseloads intentionally manageable so you have time to build meaningful relationships with your clients instead of racing from session to session. We trust our therapists, encourage collaboration, and focus on providing excellent care rather than creating unnecessary stress or bureaucracy.
If you're looking for a place where you can grow as a clinician, enjoy the people you work with, and still have a life outside of work, we'd love to meet you.

What We're Not
We're not a place that buries therapists under impossible caseloads.
We're not interested in micromanaging experienced clinicians.
We're not a corporate environment where every decision has to go through layers of management.
We believe hiring good people, supporting them, and trusting them leads to better care for our clients.
What It's Like to Work Here
The work we do matters, and we take it seriously. Ourselves? Not quite as much.
You'll find teammates who are always willing to jump in, supervisors who are easy to talk to, and leaders who genuinely care about your success both inside and outside of work.
We celebrate client victories together, learn from challenging cases together, and support one another through the difficult days. It's a professional environment where people laugh, build friendships, and enjoy coming to work.
Because when clinicians feel supported, clients do too.
