The HR Manager is responsible for all HR functions including employee relations, seasonal recruitment, compensation and benefits administration, enforcement of policies, personnel record-keeping, leave of absence management and compliance, support for Health and Safety team, culture event management and workers’ compensation administration. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will be a self motivated high level operator who loves to roll up their sleeves to ensure the Company can manage variable labor needs throughout the year with ease.
- Manages recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel to ensure smooth transitions during ramp up or RIFs. Lead on annual job fair marketing and management. Responsible for drafting job descriptions and obtaining approval for posting.
- Complete and Accurate weekly headcount, labor needs and attrition dashboard reporting to Management. Escalation and weekly reporting of HR issues. Ability to identify obstacles to progress and suggest solutions timely. Adapts if the current strategy is not working.
- Responsibility for complete and accurate employee file setup and maintenance, including e-verify non conformance and FAMLI leave arrangements.
- Identifies employee issues to prioritize, solve and/or redirect. Provides support to employees, including seasonal workers, whilst maintaining clear boundaries to ensure all HR work can be completed.
- Lead on terminations including assessment of risk, proper documentation completion and unemployment claims.
- Supports Management when performance improvement plans need to be implemented.
- Completion of investigations and documentation timely.
- Workers’ Compensation administration and annual audits. Tracking worker’s comp claims from start to finish with timely responses to service provider queries.
- Timely OSHA required posting and filings.
- FAMLI compliance
- Drafting of accurate biweekly payroll including ensuring all new employees are input into system, all terminated employees files are updated timely, payroll reflects accurate time card adjustments, pro-rated salary payments for partial work weeks, raises, garnishments, advances, reimbursements, deductions, withholding, paid time off and holidays.
- Integral part of Safety committee with responsibility to provide reporting on potential issues timely and suggested fixes.
- Ensures HR compliance with customer requirements.
- Manages company organization charts and employee directory.
- Enforces personnel policies and procedures. Identifies any necessary changes and how best to address and roll out those changes with approval from the Executive Team.
- Gathers, evaluates and collaborates with the CFO for best outcome on annual benefit renewal changes.
- Comfortable using AI prompts for work efficiencies and improving processes using AI recommendations (and researching/ checking AI results where necessary).
- Management of a skilled HR Coordinator and Seasonal Recruiting Specialist.
- Employee appreciation party and meeting planning.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Education/Experience Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- 5+ years HR generalist experience, minimum of 2 years in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with a diverse workforce, preferred.
- Proficient with general business software, including Google Suite, Adobe and MS Office.
- Working knowledge of Paychex preferred.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
