Position Summary
Gielow Pickles is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Production Forklift Operator to support our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for supplying production lines with raw materials and packaging, transporting finished goods, maintaining inventory accuracy through the ERP system, and ensuring all material movements follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Deliver raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and supplies to production lines in a timely manner.
- Remove finished goods, pallets, and waste materials from production areas.
- Scan and record all inventory transactions accurately using the company's ERP system and handheld scanners.
- Ensure all product movements follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Verify product codes, lot numbers, quantities, and storage locations before transporting materials.
- Monitor production material levels and proactively replenish supplies to minimize downtime.
- Transfer finished products to designated staging or warehouse locations.
- Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe production and storage areas.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation requirements.
- Communicate effectively with production supervisors and team members to support efficient operations.
- Assist with inventory counts and other production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred (training and certification may be provided).
- Experience using ERP systems, warehouse management systems, or handheld scanners preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift for extended periods.
- Ability to work in wet, humid, hot, cold, and noisy manufacturing environments.
Work Environment
- Food manufacturing facility with moving equipment and production machinery.
- Exposure to varying temperatures depending on the work area.
Pay: $19.83 - $21.98 per hour
