About the Job
The Manager of Automation plays a critical role in driving automation strategies for multiplexed ligand-binding assays, essential to advancing Global Clinical Immunology’s goals of enhancing operational efficiency and expediting data delivery. This role involves designing bioanalytical methods compatible with automation platforms and leading the development, qualification, and validation of these methods. Additionally, the Manager collaborates with clinical testing groups to ensure smooth integration into high-throughput environments.
The incumbent may serve as a junior member on project teams or departmental working groups, supporting multiple tasks to meet corporate and project team objectives across various initiatives. They may also oversee non-exempt personnel indirectly, ensuring timely completion of objectives to achieve departmental and company milestones.

About You
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience in bioanalytical assay development, data analysis, and automation; OR
Master's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field with 1+ years of industry experience in bioanalytical assay development, data analysis, and automation.
Internship or co-op experience will be considered.
Additional Qualifications
Familiarity with Hamilton automated platforms.
Previous experience with Ligand binding assays such as ELISA, Luminex, MSD.
Written skills required to create clear and concise documents including procedures, deviation investigations, plans, test cases and reports.
Verbal skills required to be able to act as a liaison between different groups/stakeholders, such as GCI and Automation Center of Excellence.
Creative and abstract thinking – Required to develop and implement innovative, creative and efficient solutions to issues.
Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables.
Understanding of GXP practices and procedures.
Excellent technical skills, analytical ability, judgment with a strong operational focus.
Excellent interpersonal, technical, scientific and communications skills (written/oral).
Main responsibilities
Design bioanalytical methods compatible with automation platforms and lead the development, qualification, and validation of these methods with a focus on ligand binding assays.
Troubleshoot issues that may arise with automated platforms
Under direction of management, plans and oversees the day-to-day operations and general activities associated with one or more laboratories/projects.
Ensures laboratory resources (materials/reagents/equipment/facilities) are maintained to meet assigned objectives; evaluates performance/metrics of laboratory/project in relation to objectives and effectively communicates to senior management; works to optimize laboratory performance based on metrics.
Support a quality and compliant testing environment (laboratories, equipment, reagents, training and documentation, methods, personnel).
Training coworkers on laboratory methods, procedures and techniques; assist with the generation of training modules as needed.
Document generation associated with project/objectives. This may include, but is not limited to, protocols, reports, operating procedures/instructions, regulatory correspondences, or presentations.
Support departmental quality by ensuring adequate support for documentation, investigation, and closure of quality items including change controls, deviations, and CAPAs.
