We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Coordinator to oversee several core domestic violence survivor support programs. This position is ideal for someone with significant domestic violence experience, strong leadership and crisis response skills, and a passion for community-based advocacy and education.
This position provides direct program oversight, staff supervision, survivor support, crisis intervention, law enforcement collaboration, and community outreach. The Coordinator serves as a leader within emergency response efforts and plays an active role in strengthening community awareness and partnerships surrounding domestic violence prevention and survivor safety.
This role requires flexibility and availability for some evening and weekend responsibilities related to community engagement, trainings, events, outreach activities, and speaking engagements.
Core Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Oversight
- Provide oversight and coordination of Legal Advocacy, Safe Housing, and High Risk/Lethality Prevention programs.
- Ensure programs operate in alignment with trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and confidentiality-based practices.
- Supervise and support program staff.
- Assist with onboarding, training, mentoring, and ongoing staff development.
- Monitor program effectiveness, service delivery, and compliance with grant and funding requirements.
Crisis Intervention & Survivor Support
- Respond to high-risk domestic violence referrals from law enforcement agencies, community partners, and other referral sources.
- Conduct crisis intervention, lethality assessments, safety planning, and stabilization support for survivors experiencing high-risk situations.
- Support survivors with emergency housing placement, relocation assistance, legal advocacy, and court/judicial system navigation.
- Provide support and coordination related to emergency safe housing services.
- Assist with emergency shelter operations and crisis response efforts as needed.
Community Partnerships & Collaboration
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with law enforcement agencies, courts, service providers, and community partners.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, grant partnerships, and coordinated community response efforts.
- Attend required meetings with funders, law enforcement agencies, and community partners.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual program and grant reports.
Community Engagement & Public Education
- Represent the organization at community events, trainings, outreach activities, and public speaking engagements.
- Provide domestic violence education and awareness presentations to community groups, schools, law enforcement agencies, and partner organizations.
- Support organizational visibility and engagement efforts throughout the community.
- Participate in occasional evening and weekend events and outreach activities as required.
On-Call Responsibilities
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with survivors of domestic violence.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory or management experience.
- Experience conducting lethality assessments and working collaboratively with law enforcement on high-risk domestic violence cases.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and survivor-centered advocacy.
- Ability to manage complex and emotionally challenging situations with professionalism, empathy, resilience, and sound judgment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for community engagement, trainings, outreach activities, and speaking engagements.
- Must provide three professional supervisory references.
Preferred
- Bilingual candidates preferred but not required.
- Experience in legal advocacy, emergency shelter/housing services, or community-based domestic violence programming.
- Experience with public speaking, trainings, and community engagement.
- Experience managing grant-funded programs and community partnerships.
Training Requirements
- Must complete or be willing to obtain the required Domestic Violence Counselor Training.
- Participation in all required organizational trainings and professional development activities.
