The Ministry Student Mentorship Coordinator plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of ministry leaders, serving both the Seminary (60%) and the undergraduate Bridge to Ministry program (40%). This five-year, grant-funded position offers a unique opportunity to invest deeply in students’ personal, spiritual, and academic journeys.
Reporting to the Department Chair of Seminary, this role is dedicated to ensuring that ministry students feel known, supported, and guided from enrollment through degree completion. Through consistent student engagement, including wellness check-ins and academic support, the coordinator cultivates a strong sense of belonging and purpose among students.
This position is highly relational and dynamic, involving community-building initiatives, event planning and execution, and collaboration across university departments. The coordinator also contributes to the growth of future ministry leaders through recruitment efforts, marketing initiatives, and advancement activities.
Rooted in the mission of Fresno Pacific University, this role requires active support of the Fresno Pacific University Idea and adherence to the FPU Statement of Faith.
Based on the university’s main campus, the position includes a blend of in-person and online engagement, along with occasional travel for student retreats and immersive learning experiences across the United States.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Actively participate in the seminary community in regularly scheduled events and meetings including student-life events, common meals, seminary-led conferences, department meetings, gala/commencement, and others as assigned by Department Chair.

Represent the seminary in university and community activities as requested by the Department Chair.

Provide proactive mentoring to students enrolled in ministry programs including personal wellness checks, lay pastoral care as needed, educating and assisting students in accessing and navigating services offered by the university (Student Financial Services, Registration, Student Success Center, Office of Spiritual Formation, etc.).

Oversee seminary ministry students, on campus and online, registering for the appropriate classes and connecting with Student Financial Service counselors as needed.

Coordination and active participation in FPU Bridge to Ministry events as requested by the undergraduate Christian Ministry and Leadership program coordinator.

Assist in student recruitment efforts and events when requested by seminary and undergraduate ministry program leaders.

Assist in organizing and co-facilitating ministry student travel-based experiences as assigned.

Engage in establishment and positive promotion of relationships/partnerships with external organizations, ministries, and churches.

Actively align with the vision of the seminary’s ministry programs of offering spiritually experiential education that is broadly evangelical for a non-traditional and diverse student body, with students who are personally passionate about their faith in Jesus.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION $62,400 is the annual starting salary for this role and reflects what Fresno Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, FPU offers a competitive benefits package.
