Overview
Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate and become a vital part of our fast-paced distribution operation! In this role, you'll be the backbone of our materials handling process, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the facility. Your expertise with heavy equipment and warehouse management systems will help us maintain smooth operations, support shipping and receiving, and uphold safety standards. Additionally, there are inventory responsibilities in this role as well. You should also have basic computer knowledge. The ideal candidate for this role has forklift operator experience, multi-tasking capabilities, experience with inventory control, ability to plan ahead and use foresight and critical thinking, baseline computer aptitude, & extremely organized (this is a must) with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high volume work environment with heavy internal traffic.
This is not a position for someone with low energy or lacking motivation to work quickly and with high efficiency. Strength in common sense is a major plus.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of forklifts, including reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using equipment such as <PERSON> pickers and order picker machines to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Manage inventory movement and storage using warehouse management systems (WMS), ensuring precise record-keeping and stock organization.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs on forklifts and other heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, checking for damages, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials, stacking pallets safely, and preparing goods for shipment or storage.
- Follow OSHA safety standards diligently, including proper lifting techniques, load securing procedures, and safe operation of all equipment to prevent accidents.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or similar machinery within a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving operations, including load & unload procedures.
- Knowledge of materials handling best practices with an emphasis on safety protocols outlined by OSHA.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on forklifts or related equipment is preferred.
- Warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with warehouse distribution processes is a plus.
