Job Summary:
Hauck Enterprises, a reputable landscaping company specializing in cemetery maintenance, is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our Grass Crew at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. As a Cemetery Grass Crew Member, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of cemeteries through grass cutting, edging, and general lawn care tasks. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about preserving the sanctity and serenity of these sacred spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Perform grass cutting, edging, and trimming tasks in cemeteries using various equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and edgers.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and care of equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Collect and dispose of grass clippings and other yard waste in designated areas.
- Assist in the preparation of cemetery grounds for special events or occasions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
-Ability to lift up to or over 75 lbs.
- Previous experience in landscaping or lawn care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge and understanding of grass cutting techniques, equipment operation, and general lawn care practices.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for maintaining the pristine appearance of cemeteries.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient completion of tasks within deadlines.
- Respectful and compassionate attitude towards the sensitivity of working in a cemetery setting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Additional Information:
- This position is full-time and may require occasional weekend or overtime work during peak seasons or special events.
- Competitive compensation package including hourly wage up to $17.00 an hour and benefits.
