Ablavsky Plastic Surgery & Athena Med Spa is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Front Desk Medical Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for aesthetics and exceptional patient care.
You will be one of the first faces our patients see and will play an important role in creating an outstanding experience from their initial consultation through their surgical journey and postoperative recovery.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and check in patients with professionalism and warmth
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule consultations, follow-up appointments, and procedures
- Guide patients through the consultation, preoperative, and postoperative process
- Assist patients with forms, education, and appointment preparation
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for evaluation
- Obtain vital signs, medical history updates, and clinical photographs
- Assist the physician during examinations and minor office procedures
- Perform basic medical assistant duties including dressing changes, suture removal, drain care, and postoperative visits (training provided as needed)
- Educate patients regarding postoperative instructions and recovery expectations
- Coordinate communication between patients, surgeons, nurses, and patient care coordinators
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
- Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared throughout the day
- Help maintain a welcoming, luxury patient experience at every visit
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (preferred)
- Plastic surgery, dermatology, cosmetic surgery, or medical spa experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, polished, and professional appearance
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and scheduling software
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Passion for aesthetics and outstanding patient care
