Description
Summary:
A professional who performs under the supervision of a registered professional nurse or physician; assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates patient care activities. Employee has clinical and/or functional knowledge of the position for which they are accountable, either directly or indirectly through the delegation of tasks. Collaborates with other clinical associates to meet individual needs; using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective care in the Rural Healthcare Clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with any and all patient care, including taking patient histories and vital signs as needed; setting up for procedures (pap-smears, I&D, suturing minor lacerations) and assisting as needed with these procedures.

Administration of all medications under the direction of physician orders.

Answering phone messages from patients and pharmacies for refill authorization.

Contacting patients and others Agencies with lab results, new medication orders, orders for new routine or stat labs.

Assists with scheduling of tests, treatments, and referrals as needed.

Ordering and maintaining inventory supplies, medications, and equipment.

Responsible for completion and fulfillment of all Kid Med/Community Care requirements to maintain an active program.

Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Current Louisiana LPN License required.

BLS Certification required.
