Job Description:
The Outbound Assistant Shop Manager (ASM) is responsible for carrying out daily tasks assigned by the Shop Manager while overseeing shop staff to help facilitate tasks. It falls to the ASM to ensure that the shop is operating safely and efficiently. This position requires a high attention to detail with the ability to delegate tasks to produce accurate results in an efficient manner. This is a fast-paced and quickly evolving position that requires the ability to adapt and prioritize changes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and directly manage the Outbound department
- Support Shop Management for accurate and efficient operations Outbound as well as cross training to support across departments.
- Ensure all orders meet Volt standard and complete Out Contracts
- Prioritize fixture turnaround needs and streamline check-out
- Effectively communicate asset needs, space allocation, and resource assignments
- Identify and correct shortages or undesignated sub rental needs
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
- Document safety incidents and ensure proper protocols are followed
- Work with Shop Manager to develop, implement, and maintain safety procedures
- Responsible for opening and closing as scheduled
- Ensure proper lock up procedure is followed at the end of each shift
- Conduct regular staff check-ins, foster employee growth, and mentor junior staff
- Represent Volt professionally and act as the primary point of contact for clients
- Safely and effectively package lighting assets for travel and touring
- Delegate tasks, keep staff on track, and facilitate the completion of day-to-day tasks
- Assessment and assembly of custom hardware
- Weekends and off standard hours as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience with Rentalworks or large platform RMS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, preferably in a live entertainment environment
- Prior experience in theatre, concert touring, film industry set work, or other relevant experience with professional live entertainment lighting services
- Prior experience with rigging services and standards a plus
- Ability to prioritize multiple orders/quotes and present an actionable workflow
- Experience with Google Suite & Slack
Compensation Package:
- Salary rate of $80 - $85K/year

401(k): You will be eligible to participate in Volt’s 401(k) Safe Harbor plan and a company
matching formula of 100% on the first 3% of compensation and 50% on the next 2% of
compensation. You can enroll after completing one full year of service.
Unused sick hours will go away at the end of year, with a new bank of 48 sick hours available
January 1. Any remaining vacation hours will be rolled over to the new year.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
