Position Summary
The Spravato/TMS Technician plays a vital role in administering innovative treatments, including Spravato (esketamine therapy) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), aimed at alleviating depression and other mental health conditions. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, compassionate patient care, and strict adherence to treatment protocols. The Technician ensures that treatments are delivered safely, effectively, and in compliance with clinical standards while fostering a positive patient experience.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Stewardship
- Manage treatment supplies, medications, and equipment for Spravato and TMS, ensuring proper inventory levels and avoiding shortages or excess.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain compliance with health regulations and uphold high standards of clinical safety and hygiene specific to Spravato and TMS protocols.
- Record all Spravato and TMS treatment session notes and documentation in Athena EMR within 24 hours, collaborating with providers and team members as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of medications, treatments, and patient interactions, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Understand or be willing to learn basic insurance and billing procedures related to Spravato and TMS treatments.
- Adhere to and enforce compliance requirements at state and federal levels, particularly those related to Spravato and TMS therapies.
Customer Experience
- Provide exceptional patient care by demonstrating empathy, developing trust, and listening to the needs of patients receiving Spravato and TMS therapies.
- Actively engage with patients, personalizing care plans and incorporating their feedback and treatment responses into their care experience.
- Support administrative functions when needed such as patient check in process.
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment for a vulnerable patient population, ensuring they feel safe and cared for during their Spravato and TMS sessions.
Technical Performance and Precision
- Administer Spravato and TMS treatments with precision, adhering strictly to provider-established guidelines and safety protocols.
- Monitor patients during and after Spravato and TMS treatments, ensuring their safety and possess the ability to identify and escalate any issues that arise.
- Answer patient inquiries related to Spravato and TMS, , and complete patient charting requirements promptly.
- Perform other duties related to Spravato and TMS treatments as assigned by the supervising provider or team lead.
Learning and Professional Growth
- Complete all job-related training, including certifications required for Spravato and TMS administration.
- Pursue continuous learning and demonstrate a commitment to evolving into greater roles of responsibility or mentoring others on the team.
- Expectation of willingness to train future technicians at the discretion of management or lead.

Qualifications/Education
- High school diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred.
Experience and Credentials
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Medical Assistant (MA) is strongly preferred.
- Experience in patient care, behavioral health, or medication administration is required.
- At least 1 year of experience as an EMT or MA in a behavioral/psychiatric health role is highly preferred; equivalent experience in a related healthcare field may be considered.
- Willingness to complete training and certification as a Spravato/TMS Technician.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (renewal provided as needed) or willingness to obtain.
- Satisfactory background check inclusive of driving records, criminal records, employment references, education, Social Security, and OIG/GSA exclusions.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, both currently and in the future.
Technology Requirements
- Competent with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, specifically Athena EMR.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
