JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Technician
Pay Range: $27.00 - $31.00/hr
A Manufacturing Technician performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers on setup and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. This role uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. The Manufacturing Technician determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes and works closely with engineers in conducting experiments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties related to the fabrication and assembly of mechanical components for larger assemblies.
- Set up and test complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyze data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures to meet desired specifications.
- Assist mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, testing, and fabrication of assemblies and components, as needed.
- Perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers on setup and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
- Use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
- Determine and assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes.
- Handle and manage fragile composite materials.
- Record usage, traceability, pot life, and out-time controls for all adhesive materials used.
- Report production data and interface effectively with employees across departments.
- Read and interpret manufacturing and engineering drawings, work instructions, and shop planning documents.
- Assist in maintaining overall shop organization, cleanliness, and safety.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- High school diploma or GED, and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
- Ability to read, write, and follow work instructions written in English.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on manufacturing demands.
- Self-motivated with initiative, adaptability, and a strong commitment to excellence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and/or schematics.
- Familiarity with proper hand tool usage and safety practices (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.).
- Familiarity with torque concepts and the proper use of torque tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment, including DC power supplies, digital multimeters, and source meters.
- Proficient in basic shop mathematics.
- Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance.
- Experience operating cranes, rigging equipment, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Soldering experience.
- J-STD Certification.
Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour

- aerospace industry: 1 year (Preferred)
