We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Associate Mental Health Therapist to join our team in a hybrid capacity, combining in-person and telehealth services. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to ensure accurate clinical documentation.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs, including those with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for precise documentation of patient care, progress notes, medical records, and treatment outcomes in compliance with clinical documentation standards.
- Engage in case management activities to coordinate care with other healthcare providers, schools, or community resources as needed.
- Facilitate intake assessments for new clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their mental health history and current challenges.
- Provide specialized services such as grief counseling, addiction counseling, pediatric therapy, or gender issues counseling based on client needs and your expertise.
- Participate in clinical research projects or data collection efforts aimed at improving treatment efficacy and advancing mental health practices.
- Maintain ongoing professional development through training in telehealth therapy techniques, ICD coding updates, and emerging evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling psychology, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Associate Mental Health Therapist
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with developmental disabilities; experience with pediatrics or geriatrics is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and art/dance/psychophysiological therapies if applicable.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation accuracy.
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or complex mental health needs such as PTSD or chronic pain management.
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems; previous telehealth experience preferred.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management skills and crisis intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines ensuring confidentiality and patient rights are upheld at all times.
