Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Warehouse Supervisor to lead our distribution center operations with energy and precision. In this vital role, you will oversee daily warehouse activities, manage a team of warehouse staff, and ensure seamless logistics processes. Duties
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and materials handling to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates, providing clear managerial communication and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Oversee the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners, ensuring safety and proper usage in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Implement process improvements using lean management principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline warehouse workflows.
- Maintain accurate inventory records utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management systems; conduct regular cycle counts and audits.
- Coordinate logistics activities with carriers and internal teams to optimize distribution center operations and meet delivery deadlines.
- Enforce safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, to promote a safe working environment for all team members.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or management within a distribution center environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory control, and materials handling.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as forklifts and material handling machinery.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, and RF scanners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through team leadership skills and managerial communication.
- Experience implementing process improvements using lean management or similar methodologies is highly desirable.
- Prior background in logistics or distribution center operations is preferred; OSHA certification is a plus.
