Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Mortuary Transporter to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and respectfully transporting deceased pets from veterinary clinics, pet owners’ homes, or other designated locations to our cremation facility. Your role will ensure that each pet is handled with dignity and care throughout the transportation process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong sense of professionalism, and a genuine respect for the families we serve. Duties
- Safely operate our electric vehicles to transport deceased pets with care and respect
- Follow all traffic laws and state transportation regulations to ensure safe and timely deliveries on local routes
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and adapt to changing traffic conditions
- Communicate professionally with clients, veterinary staff, and team members to coordinate pick-up and drop-off schedules
- Handle heavy lifting and manual handling of pets with proper techniques to prevent injury
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure safety and professionalism at all times
- Document all transportation activities accurately in logs or digital records for compliance and reporting purposes
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a driver or in medical transportation is highly preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating vans, shuttle buses, or limousine services is a plus
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes
- Knowledge of traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and safety standards for commercial driving
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks associated with pet transport
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate attitude during sensitive situations
- Experience with vehicle maintenance or basic troubleshooting is advantageous
