Summary
We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team at GVL Poly. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining high-quality tooling (rotational molding) for our manufacturing processes. There will be some tool building. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and precision. As part of our maintenance team you will be responsible for general maintenance on all roto-molding machines and other general maintenance or repair in our 64,000 square foot facility.
Responsibilities
- Design and fabricate tooling/molds for rotational molding processes using various machining techniques.
- Maintain and repair existing tooling/molds to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Utilize lathes, and hand tools to create precise components.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to execute tooling projects accurately.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for production challenges.
- Implement GD&T principles in the design and inspection of tooling components.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tool Builder/Welder or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in lathe operation.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software for designing molds.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics effectively.
- Proven and experienced welder is a must
- Experience with electrical discharge machining is a plus but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
