Join our dental team ,one to 1 1/2 days a week. Easy paced, relaxed enviroment.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque, tartar, and stains to promote healthy smiles.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them in maintaining their health.
- Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality and ensure a sterile environment.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration within a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR management systems and experience with medical records documentation is highly desirable.
