The Club at Sonterra is looking for an experienced Tennis & Pickleball professional to join a dynamic tennis department.
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
To provide a high quality of service to the membership both on and off the courts. To ensure that the needs of the membership are met by having well planned and well-run events, and provide information and service that exceeds their demands. To assist in all facets of the tennis program and in any way that best serves the membership.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Offers all instructional services including private and semi-private lessons, small groups, clinics, team coaching, and tactics and strategy
- Assist in the planning, supervising, and running of tennis events and leagues
- Assist in teaching clinics for men, women and juniors
- Assist junior tennis camp lessons throughout the summer
- Maintain current and up to date knowledge in all things tennis
- Be available to restring or regrip racquets for members and guests. Restring new demo racquets when necessary
- Assist in introducing new events into the tennis program that provide a greater opportunity for members to participate and enjoy the game
- Coordinating activities relating to leagues and other league play
- Assist in coordinating food and beverage for various tennis events and member related activities
- Promote events, clinics, leagues and activities by interacting with members
- Follow up with members to evaluate tennis activities & leagues
- When required assist with inventory counts and merchandising in the Tennis shop
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude at all times
- Must provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers
- Assist in tennis shop operations when needed
Working Conditions
- Depending on the season, this position works 20-30 hours per week.
- The staff works together to coordinate regular days off, vacation requests, weekend coverage, and event coverage.
- Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally may lift up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma Required. College degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years of tennis experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
- United States Professional Tennis Association (USTPA) and/or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Certification is a plus, but not required
- CPR and AED certified is a plus

- Directly To: Director of Tennis & Head Tennis Professional
